For 92 years, Four Seas has hired the best kids on Cape Cod to serve our home-made ice cream to customers. Crew photos line our dining room, and many of our Scoopers return year after year throughout high school and college.

We are generally looking for employees age 16+. Are you 14 or 15? We anticipate having some Assistant Scooper spots for younger employees, but our busiest hours are at night and you can’t work that late until you’re 16. You’re welcome to apply, just know there are limited places. If you aren’t hired this year, apply again when you’re 16!

Job title: Scooper

Job type: Part-time, seasonal (April through mid-September)

Looking for a legendary Cape Cod summer job? Four Seas Ice Cream is hiring Scoopers for the summer 2026 season! This is a fast-paced, front-of-house role at an iconic Cape Cod ice cream shop. You’ll be talking to customers, scooping ice cream, and keeping up with hectic evening rushes as part of a great crew. It’s demanding, but for the right person, it’s fun, social, and rewarding.

What you’ll do:

  • Welcome customers to the shop
  • Take orders quickly and accurately
  • Scoop and serve ice cream efficiently—keep the line moving
  • Handle cash and credit transactions
  • Help keep the shop clean, stocked, and organized (must be able to lift 25 pounds)

You’re a great fit if you:

  • Are outgoing, confident, and enjoy talking to people
  • Like staying busy and working on your feet
  • Can handle pressure and stay positive during rushes
  • Are reliable, punctual, and take responsibility seriously
  • Genuinely enjoy making people smile

Schedule & availability (non-negotiable)

To work as a Scooper, you must:

  • Attend paid, in-person training in April (high-school students) or late May (college students)
  • Work at least 4 shifts per week in May and 5+ shifts per week from June onward
  • Be available weekdays and at least one weekend day
  • Be available for both day and closing shifts (until 10:30–10:45 PM in season)
  • Work mid-May through late August (college students) or mid-September (high-school students); you may choose up to 2 weekends off, not including Memorial Day weekend, July 4th weekend, and Labor Day weekend

Please note: This position requires full-season availability. It’s not compatible with long vacations, camps, or other commitments that interfere with your summer availability.

You’ll work alongside an awesome crew of high school and college students, serve lots of happy customers, and spend your summer at a place that defines Cape Cod.

This is not a quiet, shy, or behind-the-scenes role. If you’re excited to talk to people, stay engaged for an entire shift, and work hard during rushes, you’ll thrive here.

  • Restock supplies and assist teammates during rushes
  • Help keep the shop clean, organized, and moving smoothly (must be able to lift 25 pounds)

To work as an Assistant Scooper, you must:

  • Attend paid, in-person training in April
  • Be available to work weekdays until 7 pm in May and June, plus some weekend shifts
  • Work at least 3 shifts per week during the school year and 4+ during summer
  • Be available for daytime summer shifts, with some early evenings (up to 9 pm)
  • Work through mid-September; you may choose up to 2 weekends off, not including Memorial Day weekend, July 4th weekend, and Labor Day weekend
  • Be on time and dependable
